Chloe Moretz is in talks to join the dramatic horror film Maggie, Variety reports. The script landed on the 2011 “Black List” of unproduced screenplays. Written by John Scott 3, it was given the following official logline:

Darko Entertainment, Subotica Entertaiment and Matador Pictures have today announced plans to move forward with All Is By My Side, an unlicensed biopic of Jimi Hendrix that will star Andrew Benjamin (AKA Andre 3000) in the lead. Joining him are Hayley Atwell (Captain America: The First Avenger) and Imogen Poots (Fright Night) with John Ridley both writing and directing.
The estate of the late musician has come out against the film, however, and today issued a statement to the Wall Street Journal that claims that their company, Experience Hendrix, LCC, “has made it known many times in the past that no such film, were it to include original music or copyrights created by Jimi Hendrix, can be undertaken without its full participation.”
The intention of All Is By My Side appears to be to move forward without the company’s permission and with Darko Entertainment financing the film. Their Sean McKittrick, Jeff Culotta and Danny Bramson will produce alongside Subotica’s Tristan Orphen Lynch and Matador’s Nigel Thomas. Ted Hamm and Ridley (both of Darko) will executive produce with production slated to begin in Ireland later this month. The official synopsis for the film reads as follows:
In All Is By My Side, theres rock music. Then there’s Jimi Hendrix. All Is By My Side captures the energy, the charisma, the mind-boggling talent of a legend whose musical influence still resonates around the world today. Based on actual interviews and archival materials, All Is By My Side brings authenticity and poignantly reveals a Jimi Hendrix behind the legend. At its heart a love story, All Is By My Side is about a man growing up, falling in love and becoming Jimi.

Universal Pictures is in talks with Matthew Vaughn to develop a sequel to Kick-Ass, the adaptation of the Mark Millar and John Romita, Jr. comic which earned $96.2 million worldwide on a budget of $30 million in 2010, says Heat Vision.
Lionsgate distributed the first film, which was directed, produced and self-financed by Vaughn. He is producing the sequel and has picked Never Back Down helmer Jeff Wadlow to direct the sequel.
The site adds that Vaughn wrote the script for the follow-up, which adapts not only “Kick-Ass 2,” but also the “Hit-Girl” spin-off that hits stores next month. The Hit-Girl storyline will be the first act of the movie.
A September starts is being eyed for the film, which would have Aaron Johnson, Chloe Moretz and Christopher Mintz-Plasse reprise their roles.
